In back of the coffee shop, it’s a craft shop named “Good buy”. You can find the fine art made from Taitung. Including the most traditional Amis’ craft, clothes or hats made by the skin of tree. And you can find some creation made by drift wood, fabric, knitting, metal, leather, paper…or other material you can image or not.
The owner of this shop is Homi. She is an experienced curator and can really understand what the artists want and need. By the way, her husband is an outstanding indigenous musician and singer. After moving to Taitung for years, Homi tried hard to provide a window for artists to express their ideas. It’s so difficult to maintain daily life for the artists if you don’t care about anything else but your creation. (But I think some artists I know here, they are poor in economics but rich in mind.) Homi is the person with dream and can bring the dream to real world.
There is a plat under a tree next to the shop. It’s so relax when you lie on it and feel the wind blowing to your body. And sometimes we can enjoy wonderful music here.
It’s scheduled usually in summer or winter vocation, but I prefer surprises. So, good luck!
